My career did not start in writing as my formal education was Mathematics. The majority of my working years consisted of being a Systems Engineer for a large corporation.
I took a hiatus from work to help raise our family and worked as a math and reading tutor, and substitute teacher. I returned to the workforce and retired a few years ago.
Recently, I attended a workshop called "taking your journal to a book". There were people of all ages who attended and spoke about their years of writing and the hope of someday being published. Just like the others, I also had stacks of journals, notes and hand written papers. I learned that letting go and writing inner feelings can clear your mind and incite creativity.
My first story was about a group of kids that go out to play their annual game of ghosts in the graveyard. That story led to others which eventually became Spooky Twisties I and II.
Now retired, I enjoy writing young and adult fiction, watercolor painting, charcoal/pencil sketching, exercising and golf.
